Has maintaining your least-cost-routing tables for International traffic become a headache? Rates change frequently -- sometimes daily. Hundreds of possible terminating countries with different rates for certain city codes and different rates for landline and mobile terminations, means keeping a least-cost-routing table up-to-date is a daunting task.  And since most carriers interconnect with several international carriers, the problem grows exponentially.  Tele-Tech offers a solution that enables you to maintain your international rate tables accurately with minimal effort.  By outsourcing the process to Tele-Tech, you’ll be assured that your data remains current while you and your staff focus on the more essential tasks at hand.

Analysis of switch reports of local calls vs. current tariffed information
Our customer’s local switches were not accurately programmed to route local calls via local trunks, causing increased traffic on long distance trunks and increasing their intercarrier connection costs. To resolve this issue, the customer sent Tele-Tech reports generated by each switch showing which NPA-NXXs were programmed as local termination points. Tele-Tech audited these reports against our data and verified our results with the incumbent local exchange carrier tariffs. The report delivered to the client highlighted switch programming errors and enabled easy and accurate reprogramming of the switches.

Provide special notifications of expansions to local calling areas
For this project, our client requires competitive intelligence prior to the expansion of local calling areas by other carriers. This enables our client to respond to the changing market and give its customers a larger local calling area. Our process tracks local calling area expansions at state Public Utility Commissions, in carrier tariffs, and through other contacts and resources we have developed over the course of our 30+ years in the industry.  A comprehensive list of these expansions, and their effective dates, is provided to our customer, who is then able to make the necessary strategic adjustments, in many cases as early as 1 to 2 weeks before the competitor’s change takes effect.

Provide change reports that give details of modifications to local calling areas
Competitive intelligence works best when it’s provided in an easy-to-digest format that can be shared throughout the enterprise. This report, showing rate centers that have been added or deleted from competitors’ local calling areas, is created every two weeks. It highlights, in an easily understood format, what changes are happening in individual markets across the country.

·         Maintain database of international wholesale carrier rates to enable least-cost routing
International wholesale carriers typically offer different rates to 200+ countries. Those rates change frequently -- sometimes daily.  For a carrier contracting with 5 wholesale carriers, keeping up with the rate changes to ensure international calls are routed via the most cost-effective path is an impossible task. We designed a system to make keying of updated rates quicker, and automate the determination of the least-cost carrier for a specific country (or in some cases to the city level).  This allows our customer to implement rate changes more quickly than ever before.
